About This Lecture
The array form of the INDEX function was recommended to be discontinued in standard functions some time ago. This was because, as the dimensions of a worksheet increased, the number of cells returned grew and calculation performance fell. However, with the introduction of dynamic arrays, there is a very useful job that the array form of the INDEX function can do for us.
But in the later months of 2022, a whole swag of useful array manipulation functions were introduced. These vastly simplify the task of extracting and manipulating columns and rows within calculated arrays. So we now have a range of tools, in addition to the array form of INDEX to accomplish these tasks.
This lecture demonstrates how to make use of the array form of the INDEX function, but also the extremely useful CHOOSEROWS, CHOOSECOLS, DROP and TAKE functions to carry out powerful analysis and forecasting calculations.
