Function Reference: ISERROR

Syntax
=ISERROR(value)
Purpose / Description
Determines if the value is an error value.  Recognises all error values as errors.
Arguments
Name Type Description
value any The value which is to be examined to determine if it is an error value.
Return Values
Type Specific Value Description
logical TRUE The value argument is an error value.
logical FALSE The value argument is not an error value.
Notes / Comments / Advice / Warnings
Note: As this is a function for determining value type, it does not return errors when an error value is passed, as that is not a reference, so in that case, it returns FALSE.

Comment: This function is not as widely used as was once the case, as the introduction of the IFERROR function in Excel 2007 simplified the identification and handling of errors.
