As this is a function for determining value type, it does not return errors when an error value is passed, as that is not a reference, so in that case, it returns FALSE. |

If a range is formatted with the Text number format, all values entered into those cells after the format is set, are stored as text strings. Also values entered with the string prefix ('), will be stored as text strings. They will be recognised by ISTEXT as text strings. |
